Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using Right Place Japan (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

This English version is provided for convenience. Please refer to the Japanese version if any wording is unclear.

Article 1. About the Service

The Service provides information and connections to help foreign residents in Japan and other users obtain information about everyday or business-related concerns and find professionals or service providers.

Right Place Japan does not itself provide professional services that must be performed by licensed professionals such as administrative scriveners, lawyers, judicial scriveners, labor and social security attorneys, tax accountants or other qualified professionals.

Article 2. Relationship between users and professionals or service providers

If consultations, requests, contracts or other transactions take place between a user and a professional or service provider through the Service, the relevant contract is in principle formed directly between those parties.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Right Place Japan is not a party to such contracts.

Users must confirm the scope of work, fees, qualifications, services and other necessary matters directly with the professional or service provider before making a request.

Article 3. Registered providers

Professionals and service providers must register accurate and up-to-date information.

Right Place Japan may request confirmation of registration details, qualifications, business status or other matters when necessary to maintain service quality or for other reasonable purposes.

If registered information is inaccurate, these Terms are violated, or a listing is otherwise considered inappropriate, Right Place Japan may correct, suspend or cancel the listing.

Article 4. Beta version

The Service is currently provided as a beta version.

During the beta period, initial registered providers may receive registration and basic listings free of charge under separately displayed conditions.

The Service may move to a full version, add or change functions, or change its pricing structure. No paid service will be automatically contracted without the agreement of the relevant user or registered provider.

Article 5. Prohibited conduct

The following conduct is prohibited when using the Service.

  • Registering false or misleading information
  • Impersonating another person
  • Violating laws, regulations or public order and morals
  • Creating the false impression that an unqualified person is performing work that legally requires a qualification
  • Infringing the rights of other users, professionals, service providers or third parties
  • Interfering with the operation of the Service
  • Unauthorized access or other conduct that harms the Service
  • Other conduct deemed inappropriate by the operator

Article 6. Information published on the Service

Right Place Japan aims to keep published information appropriate, but does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose.

Right Place Japan may verify qualifications, registration status, service details or other information about professionals and service providers, but does not guarantee continuous verification of all information.

Article 7. Disclaimer

Users use the Service at their own judgment and responsibility.

Except where Right Place Japan is legally liable, Right Place Japan does not guarantee the results of consultations, requests, contracts, transactions or other actions between users and professionals or service providers through the Service.

The Service may be suspended in whole or in part due to communication failures, system failures, maintenance, suspension of third-party services or other unavoidable circumstances.

Article 8. Intellectual property

Rights relating to text, images, designs and other content published on the Service belong to the operator or other lawful rights holders.

Registered providers grant the operator permission to use submitted text, images, names and other information to the extent necessary for publication on the Service.

Article 9. Changes, suspension and termination of the Service

The operator may change, suspend or terminate the Service when necessary.

Important changes will be announced on the Service or by another appropriate method.

Article 10. Changes to these Terms

The operator may change these Terms when laws or the Service change or when otherwise necessary.

Revised Terms will apply from the time they are published on the Service or from another specified effective date.

Article 11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.

If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the Japanese court having jurisdiction over the operator’s location will be the agreed court of first instance.
